Hi,

No, I wasn't offended. If anything I feel that your answer, and my confusion
can help others in a similar situation. I have gone over census material and
so far cannot find ANY information on Aurea's in-laws which is extremely
frustrating. I feel I'm missing something but don't know what it is as of
yet.

I do feel that Cyrus is the key, he came from CT, 1st married in CT, then I
believe he came to Masonville, then went to Ohio which is where Aurea was
for a few years, then Aurea returned to Masonville and I find Cyrus buried
in the cemetery and his 2nd wife in a census with Aurea and family. In North
research it says that Cyrus came to NY, but not where in NY, I think
Masonville. Both Cyrus and Aurea are in Portage Ohio at the same time as
mentioned earlier.

What I do find strange is no headstone for Electa in cemetery with Cyrus or
Aurea and his family, they were well off financially and to me this is very
strange unless she remarried which is very possible and I haven't found that
link yet.

I do appreciate your help, many times others see what the researcher does
not, or has different ideas on where to look next.

I hope you weren't offended by my asking what might have been considered
obvious, but I like to be sure . . . I'm not surprised with your answer.

I would start with trusting the census since you don't know Aurea's mother's

family. (You left "know" out of your sentence, I think.) That would have
her as Maria's sister or sister-in-law. Of the two, I would expect her to
be with a blood relative, so I lean toward her being Maria's sister.

And I still wouldn't discount the relationship as based on Cyrus as you
suggest. A match on birth state in the census would have helped.

Vernon
