Have you tried New Jersey and/or Quaker records. Some HAINES changed to HAYNES spelling I've been told. I believe that was when they went west from Iowa. I am not a HAINES. However, L.P. ALLEN wrote a genealogy, the early parts of it were in N.J. and Quaker. I have 1897 printing, and DAR has the 1901 printing. Allen included some HAINES & CURTIS; but mostly SHREVE & WHITE. He has errors and omissions, but it would be a start.

Hi Rock,

I am curious where you obtained your information from concerning John Haines & Mary Curtis. I can't find anything to match Irene up with these parents and then can't find anything concerning a marriage between John Haines & Mary Curtis...I'm stuck!

I too am descended from Joshua & Irene through Elizabeth & Joseph, then through Henry & Emma Perlina.
