I am looking for more information concerning the family of Lousia Denton, who
married Oscar Augustus Dykeman in 1853. her sister Mary Ann, or Marion,
married a Townsend also in 1853. Being that Louisa and Oscar Augustus later
became members of the pawling baptist church, the one that actually is in
pawling today, it occurs to me that the dentons buried in this graveyard may
indeed be family members of Lousia. louisa was born in 1836, died in 1916, is
buried in the Pawling cemetery on route 22. Does anyone have the list of
dentons buried out by the whaley lake church? i would be most interested in
knowing who the dentons are so that I could try to find the link to louisa's
family.
Thanks!

Gil, the Denton's and Davis' were my husband's family. In fact, my
mother-in-law and her parents and my husband are all buried there. Everett
R. Davis & Ida Hustis, daughter Ruth Davis Plantinga Young and her son
Pierre
K. Plantinga (my husband who was interred there in April 1994). Celina
Davis, a relative of my mother-in-law, was still alive in 1993. If you want
to look her up, let me know and I will see if I have her address. She lives
in that area. When my mother-in-law died in 1958 we contacted Celina's
father, Oscar Davis, to made arrangements for the grave to be opened. I am
sure Oscar is gone and Celina might also be gone.
I have the old deeds for that cemetery. Don't know why anyone would want
them, but I do have them.
