Hi Jennifer

Everytime I've seen your Sherwood surname I held on to the e-mail for a
while, thinking I had something on that name. Finally found it. It may not
fit with your family at all, but it's worth a shot.

I have John P. Sherwood, b. 1783, m. 1810 to Abigail Carpenter, d. 1871 Of
Oneida Castle, NY. [Descendent of Thomas Sherwood (1586-1655) from England
in "The Francis" to Boston, 1634, to Wethersfield, CT then Fairfield, CT in
1650. m. Alice (b. 1587); m2. Mary Fitch (d. 1693). Walked to gallos with
Good Wife knapp when she was convicted and hanged for witchcraft, 1653.]

The source for this is the Abridged Compendium of American Genealogy, I
believe vol. 3, and wouldn't you know it I don't have the page number...

My Sherwoods in this location were there in the 1780s.
Samuel Taylor Sherwood was born 29 July 1787.
That's all I have about my SHERWOODs in this county.
