Surname: Scofield, Van Voorhis, DuBois

Hello Fellow Researchers,

I am hoping someone knows of these people and can tell me if any of them
served in a war, so the proper markers can be placed on their graves at
the First Reformed (Dutch) Church cemetery in Fishkill, NY.

As my son has been working on recording every headstone, we have come across
these men and wonder if they may be eligible for recogition.

Part of his Eagle Scout Project is to try to determine if there are any
veterans in need of plaques and flags on Memorial Day, as NONE have flags
placed there at this time.

I have a short list here, but if you know of an ancestor there. please
let us know and we will forward the information to the proper people so
they will receive recognition of their sacrifice.

Cornelius Van Voorhis d. 6 april 1862
Capt. Peter DuBois d. 1781
Major Wm. R. Van Voorhis
Jacob I. Scofield died either 28 Jan 1836 or 28 Jan 1856 ( headstone is
difficult to read and seems to contradict previously written cemetery records)

Thank you for your help,

Judy Wolf
