Hi, Jim,

I've just read your letter to the Dutchess Co. list, about your Nathan
Pearce in RI.
I have a George Pearce, b ca 1590 in York. England, d ca 1641 @ Providence,
RI. His son, Richard Pearce, was b 1615 @ Essex Co. Eng, and he d 1678 @
Portsmouth, Newport Co., RI. (He's supposed to have been in RI by 1654). He
marr Susannah WRIGHT, bapt. @ Essex Co., Eng 1627 and d 1678 @ Portsmouth,
RI. (I'm curious if Richard and his wife Susannah died together in an
accident, poss. I don't know the date of death for either, only the year.)
We're descended from his dau, Mary Pearce, who marr Thomas BROWNELL in 1678 @
Little Compton, RI. So of course, that's the end of my Pearces, but as they
were also in Newport Co., RI, I imagine there may be a connection here to
your Nathan.

Richard 7 Susannah (Wright) Pearce had the following children:
1) Richard Jr. b prob 1643, marr Experience ??.

2) Martha b 13 Sept 1645, d @ Tiverton, Newport Co., RI 4 Feb 1744.

3) John, b 8 Sept 1647, d 5 Dec @ Tiverton, RI. marr in 1705 Mary, who was
prob the eldest child of Peter & Ann Tallman of Portsmouth.

4) Giles,, b prob 1649, marr 13 Apr 1676, to Elizabeth Hall, of Providence,
RI.

5) Jerimiah, b prob 1651.

6) Susanna, b 22 Nov 1652, marr 4 Dec 1673, George Brownell, s/o Thomas &
Ann, of Portsmouth.

7) **Mary**, b 6 May 1654, d 4 May 1736, marr Thomas Brownell Jr, s/o Thomas
& Ann of Portsmouth.

8) James b prob 1656.

9) William, b prob 1658.

10) Dau, b prob 1660, given name unknown.

11) George, b 10 July, 1662, d 3 Sept 1752. Marr, on 7 Apr 1687, Alice Hart,
d/o Richard & ?? Hart of Portsmouth.

Do any of these names ring a bell for you? I noticed that one of Nathan's
children was named Susannah, too.

I hope this may be of some help to you.

Best,

Barbara in MO
