Wallbridge, Story
My ancestor, Caleb Story born 1788, came to Prince Edward Co. Canada in 1804
as a teenager with his Uncle John Walden Meyer. He is supposed (according to
Pioneer Life on the Bay of Quinte) to be the son of Amos STORY b. 1767, North
East Town, Dutchess Co. NY and his wife Ede Wallbridge/Wolbridge/Walbridge born
about 1769 and married 13 Nov 1785 at First Stanford Baptist, Bengall, NY. Ede
died abt 1793 and Amos remarried on 20 Sept 1795 in the same church to Catherine
Prough b 1770. I have used Henry Wallbridge's Genealogy but found no Ede or Edith
who would have been this age. I have found lists, on the internet and in Salt
Lake Library, of Amos' and Ede's children and found no Caleb amongst them and no
references to Ede's parents. I have found lists of Catherine Prough and Amos's
children but again, no Caleb. I have contacted Wallbridges in Canada who have
family records but noone has my Ede in their database. Have you ever come across
a Wallbridge family in Dutchess County who had an Ede born about 1769?
