The Dimmock family that was in Dutchess Co. in the 18th century may be
found in vol. IV of The Settlers of the Beekman Patent. There is no Joseph
mentioned in the later years but a Samuel Dimmock was in present Putnam
(then part of Dutchess) Co. up till ca. 1790. See web site for this and
