Caution Girls,
And anyone can jump in and Correct me if I am wrong but Genealogy.COM is
the owner of the GenFourm "Board"sites. The .COM signifies to me that
they are COMmercial/out to make money sites. Rootsweb.COM sites of
course are .COM sites also so again the same significance is added and of
course, MyFamily.COM (associated with Ancestry.COM) has their copyright
at the bottom of the Rootsweb "Board" sites - SO it seems to me the best
choice is to post on the Dutchess ALHN "Board" sites which are now linked
to the Dutchess GenWeb site. http://www.rootsweb.com/~nydutche/
The ALHN sites are part of USGenNet.ORG - The .ORG signifies to me that
they are an ORGanization and a not-for-profit sites that are part of a:
"nonprofit research network which is affiliated with the American Local
History Network, Inc. (ALHN), and the American History and Genealogy
Project (AHGP), and hosted by USGenNet, a nonprofit historical and
genealogical Safe-Site Server. No claim is made to the copyrights of
individual submitters, and this site complies fully with with USGenNet's
Nonprofit Conditions of Use.

In any and all cases what you post is out there for the WHOLE WIDE WORLD
so just watch what you post! Post enough to peak the interest of someone
viewing the post to contact you by your e-mail address or snail mail
address (- which you may or may not want to post in the body of your post
- ) and carry on further correspondence by private e-mail or snail mail
to insure SHARING which is what genealogy is all about in my book.
Remember whatever you post is out there for "GRAB and RUN" and you may
never hear from the GRABBER who RAN with it thus negating the SHARING
aspect and the further exchange of information as corrections and
revisions are found as your research continues.
