I'm pretty sure that the Smith Thompson that married Sarah Livingston was the Supreme Court Justice (b1768-d1843) and not the son of Gideon. I also think Justice Smith Thompson's son Smith Jr. married a daughter of Vice President Tompkins.
It doesn't seem like this information is important to your line, but I thought I'd post this in case it is.
