The US Naval Academy is at Annapolis Maryland. teh Army used West Point,
which is in NY.

Do you have any idea of what the mimimum age would have been to attend the US
Naval Academy in MD back in those days?
My records indicate that Alex would have been 18 years old in 1815 (b. 1797)
at the time the Rhinebeck Alex was made Acting Midshipman. I was thinking
maybe he attended a school a little closer to home when he was younger.
In the meantime, I'll see what I can do with the Naval Academy.
