Tom,
I had the same problem. My grandmother said that her father lived at one
time in Roundout and when I started to trace the family I thought she must
have meant Rombout, Dutchess Co. but found that it was indeed Roundout in
Ulster Co. It used to be a separate village but is now part of Kingston,
situated on the Roundout Creek which joins the Walkill River and flows into
the Hudson on the southern edge of Kingston.
