Charles Chauncey Adams [son of Dr. Henry Adams and Sarah Pelton] married Cordelia Delevan 19 Oct 1811.

He died soon after in 1814 in Poughkeepsie and the widow remarried Richard Nelson in 1818.

His parents were married 11 Nov 1786 in Cortlandt Westchester Co. by Rev. Silas Constant. His Massachusett born father, Henry Adams (1758-1793) died Cortlandt leaving two sons, Charles C. and Philip. His widowed mother remarried William Besley (1754-1831) who is buried in Brinkerhoff Presbyterian Cem. The Besleys lived in East Fishkill. Sarah was living in Brooklyn in 1855. [the IGI incorrectly reported that William Besley married Sarah Pelton in 1798 (sic)!!!]

I'm not a descendant but Dr. Henry Adams served on the Mass. line (DAR). He is a descendant of Henry Adams of Braintree.
