Hi Janet - I saw your posting which is very old (2000) and wonder if you ever got an answer to your question? I, too, am a descendant of Roger and Catharyna (Rombout) Brett. I have a great deal of info to share, but not if you already have it. Just briefly - Peter DeBoys was actually Peter DuBois. He and his wife Jannetje were the only white settlers on the land that Roger and Catharyna first built on in 1708. This land was apparently, on the Hudson River at the mouth of Fishkill Creek. Are you familiar with the "Madame Brett Homestead" in Beacon, NY? This was a later home, and is still there and owned by the DAR.
