Thank you for your reply about our LOUNSBURY, HUSTED, KNAPP, and SMITH lines!! I am curious about your comment about Quaker lineage.
Some of my information, as I recall, talked about Jonas being a Congregationalist. I know that Nathan, Jonas' son, became a Methodist minister. I don't know whether the Quakers fit into that scenerio.
I have seen the Pennoyer notes and my co-researcher on this family has accessed Ms. Morrison's notes at the NEHGS. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be anything in either information that talks about Jonas' parents.
I appreciate your perspective. I'll be spending a lot of time looking for Jonas in Westchester and Dutchess Counties, as possibilities. Anything else that you can think of that might point me in the right direction? Thanks!! Cindy
