>Hi,
>My great grandmother Mabel Knapp Doty grew up in Stanfordville, Dutchess County. She lived across the street from this institute and told my grandmother (her daughter-in -law) that her guardian would take her there to hear sermons/lectures on Sunday. She was born in 9/18/1872 if that should give you a rough idea that it was at least in operation during her girlhood, say 1872-1885. The way I understand it, this was a sort of Protestant seminary, but that may be wrong.
