I am trying to find any information about the John and Sarah Sherwood Carley
family who moved out of Fairfield, CT prior to 1760 and into what was then
Dutchess Co - The Oblong - and later into more northern areas of NY State. Sons
of John can be found in the lists of Dutches Co. Vol Militia as may be John
himself. Suspect a James in Fishkill area in 1790 to have been if not a son, a
grandson. Kerley's Corners in NW of Dutchess may also be related.- Also need
to find records of marriages and families from Frederickstown 1770-80s, now in
Putnam, Co. - can anyone direct me to repositories for that information?
