I am desperately looking for information on My Grrrr Grandfather. I know his name only as --Mr. Wilcox. His Sons were Abel Wilcox, Joshua Wilcox, & Stephen Wilcox. They are mentioned in the "History of Leeds and Grenville" page 77 - as follows: "Early settlers, previous to 1812-1815.-- Mr. Wilcox and sons Abel, Joshua, and Stephen; and your Peter Quackenbosh/bush and many other families are mentioned here.

On researching my Wilcox family, I found the following document that I transcribed and put into my notes: ---
Through a Land Petition filed by David Wilcox, a sworn affidavit is attached by a Peter Quackenbush and a Jacob Mills. In the affidavit these two people claim that they came to this province (Ontario) with David Wilcox Jr. and that David brought a total of 13 people to this Province with him in May of 1798.

Other people mentioned in this affidavit are as follows: Jacob Mills, Reuben Lewis/Louis, Peter Quackenbush, Harmanus Quackenbush, Corneilus Van Waters, George Reid, Jonathan Mills, Jonas Walrod, David Wilcox Sr., Elias Wilcox, Samuel Lewis/Louis, Abel Wilcox, Joshua Wilcox, & even though Steven is not mentiioned I believe he is the 13th. person.

I do not know where my Wilcox's come from, but taking into consideration they came into this Country (Canada) with your Peter Quackenbush & Jacob Mills; and they all ended up in Grenville County living in the same area; --- I can only assume they all came from the same place. On doing my research I discovered that your Peter came from Fonda DRC, Fonda, New York. Is it possible my Wilcox's also came from this place???

I would appreciate more than words can say, if someone in the Fonda New York area can tell me if my Wilcox's are from this location.

I do not know Abel's birth, Joshua Wilcox was born 1786, Stephen Lewis was born 1788.

It is believed that the Wilcox family (prior to U.S.) may have come from Ireland.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!
