I have just identified the parents and siblings of a collateral ancestor:



George F Shaffer was b. in Red Hook, Dutchess Co., NY in 1854. He m. Mary S
Murch (my g-g-grandmother's sister) about 1884. They had one daughter,
Ella, who died in 1918. George died in Poughkeepsie in 1922. His parents
were Peter B Shaffer and Dorothy Lown who had the following children:



John Peter Shaffer b. ca. 1849

Wilson (or William) Shaffer b. ca, 1852

George F. Shaffer b. 1854

Rachel (or Gertrude) Shaffer b. ca, 1855

Henry Shaffer b. ca. 1856

Charles Shaffer b. ca. 1857

Sarah (Sadie) Shaffer b. ca. 1858

Allen Shaffer b. ca. 1859

May (or Mary) Shaffer b. ca. 1864

Frederick Shaffer b. ca. 1866



I would be interested any information on the descendants of this family.
Please note that the spelling of Shaffer has not been consistent over the
years.
