I am looking for any connection to Edward Briggs, b.1820 in NY. According to the 1850 census, he was living in Clinton, Dutchess county, with his wife Losetta(mispelled in 1850 census as Rosetta) and 3 children: Philip,(age 7, b. abt.1843) Adaline,"Addie"(age 2, b. 1847) and Theodore,(5 months).
They later moved to Cayuga co., NY and had 8 more children:
4)Ernesteen, b. abt. 1852 (married a Mott ?) lived in Cayuga co., NY
5) Phebe/Pheobe, b.1854, (married Jeremiah Biggs) lived in Lysander, NY
6) Elizabeth," Libbie" b. 1855, d. 1886 (married Edward Kennedy) lived in Cayuga co. NY
7) Martha, "Mattie", b. 1859, d. 1892 (married Charles T. Whitfield) lived in Cayuga co., NY. Had 4 children: George, Leila, William Howard, and Earl
8) Sarah,"Sattie", b.1861, d. 1877
9) William, b.1862, d.1930(married Anna Unknown last name, b.1868-1926)
10) Walter J., b. 1868, d. 1937(married Jessie m. Unknown last name,b.1873-1960 ) Had a dau. Neva Briggs Rowe, b.1897, d. 1918
11) Frank, b. 1870, d. June, 6, 1957(married Melva Coleman, b. 1872-d. April 22, 1950)
Most of the above dates are from the Union Hill cemetery transcript, Cato, NY.
Frank was an undertaker in Cayuga Co., NY.
