I found a tie-in at the sixth generation level, where Margaretha COLE married Herman (I have Hermanus, born after 1722) SCHNEIDER on 15 Feb 1748 at the Germantown Reformed Church.
Their daughter Margaret SCHNEIDER married Heinrich KUHN, Jr. about 1781, and two generations later, Henry H. COON, Jr. (14 Jul 1813- ) married Elizabeth VAN ETTEN (1810- ), a member of another extensive Dutchess County family.
Hermanus and Margaretha's son Wilhelm SCHNEIDER (abt 8 Sep 1752- ) married Gertrude KILMER (abt 5 Dec 1751- ). Their daughter Sophronica married Petrus BOIS, also a member of an extensive Dutchess County family (BICE, BOICE, BOIS, BOISE, BOYS, BUYS).
Now a question: Can you explain how the son of Jacob ARENTS and Aeltje DIRCKS came to be named Barent COOL?
Also, do you have any record of John P COLE, who married Racheltje (Rachel) LEWIS (23 Jan 1756-7 Apr 1853) of Rhinebeck and another huge Dutchess County family?
Maybe a related note: Lucas DIRCKSEN (abt 1620-abt 1670), born in Holland, died in New Amsterdam, the so-called "progenitor" of the Van Der Burgh family in the United States, married, abt 1652, Annetje Cornelis (abt 1649-aft 6 Oct 1683). They had seven children, including sons Arent and Dirck. Given the similarity of names, do you see any tie-in with Jacob ARENTS and Aeltje DIRCKS?
