Miss Mary Green had taken a position at Shaffer's Tea Room.

Cyril Barton motored to Hartford on Sunday afternoon.

Peter Hansen of Wassaic was a vistor here on Wednesday.

Miss Alice Sheehy, is at home, due to the illness of her father.

Miss Marion Thompson is acting as a waitress at DeLaVergne Farms Hotel.

Mrs. and Mrs. Howard Weidman are now living in their new apartment on West Main street, recently constructed by C. M. Card.

George Cook, of Torrington, motored here Sunday and was entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. D. Blownstine.

Quite a number of local boys journied to Poughkeepsie on Sunday evening and had a jolly time at Woodcliff Park.

Miss Jennie Cogan was a business visitor at Wingdale on Saturday afternoon. She was accompanied by Mile and Edwward Linehan.

Mrs. D. P. Barry, son Edward and daughter Anna, as well as Mrs. M. J. McDonald motored to Poughkeepsie on Tuesday.

Miss Margaret O'Connor and Ben Thompson motored to South Norwalk on Sunday and called on friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Carpenter and family of Clarksville, N. Y., have recently moved into an apartment in the N. Collins Smith building, formerly occupied by S. Caldar and family. Mr. Carpenter is employed at the Wassaic State School.

Warren Fahey of Sharon, was a business caller in town Wednesday.

Mr. Edward Burch was a vistor at Millerton, Wednesday.

E. Herman Middlebrook Jr., was a social caller in Amenia, Wednesday.

Willson Bartholemew and family of Ancram, were business visitors in Amenia, Wednesday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. William Cox and family of Poughkeepsie, were Sunday visitors at the home of Mrs. Cox's father, James Doyle.

Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Brendeline and family of Tower Hill, were Sunday callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Koopman.

Major Powers has completed the new cement retaining wall along the front and one side of the F. D. Blownstine property on Prospect ave.

B. J. Corrigan of the station force enjoyed the first holiday, as a result of six-day week last Tuesday. This new measure was recently put into effect on all the N. Y. C. Lines.

Amenia friends extend heartfelt sympathy to the relatives of the late Ralph Woodward of Sharon. Mr. Woodward was one of Sharon's most prominent men, having held various town offices as well as representing the town in the Assembly at Hartford. His funeral, one of the largest ever to have been held at Sharon, took place on Wednesday afternoon.

Mrs. and Mrs. Thomas J. McGraw and friends attended the capping exercises at St. Francis Hospital at Poughkeepsie, Wednesday evening last. Miss Alice McGraw was one of the class of six who received their caps and bibs at a very impressive exercise. Miss McGraw passed with honors and she has the best wishes of her numerous friends for continued success in her chosen profession.
