When I lived in WA in the 90's, I paid about $5 to rent one (it was great -
I found my great-grandmother's obit), but last time I looked, it seems to
me it went up to about $30! Maybe I mis-remember, as it was several years
ago that I wanted to get one, but my brand-new library, a block and a half
away, doesn't have a microfilm reader! And I don't know if NY State would
send it to my genealogy society, which has an antique and very creaky
reader. Sigh.
