Poughkeepsie Daily Eagle-
Serious Case of Suffocation- Mrs. Nancy Morgan, a widow Lady , who resides
at No. 34 South Clinton Street, in this city, retired to bed on Thursday
night leaving the door of a gas burning stove in the room open, and the
dampers shut off. She was found on Friday morning about ten o'clock, in an
insensible condition, the room being filled with gas. Dr. PORTEOUS was
called, and although he did everything in his power to restore her to
consciousness, and up to a late hour last night there was no change in her
condition. The Doctor was of the opinion she would hardly live the night
out.
Mrs. MORGAN, who is quite an aged lady, is well known about the city.
