Interesting the way time changes things. However, perhaps the Stewart
family is fortunate to have a terminal and a display case to honor their
memory. Lots of people after which airports were once named have not been
remembered even that well.

Actually, I suspect that the airport code (SWF) will remain as well. Since
airport codes are established by the International Standards Organization
(ISO) they are not subject to the whim of local officials. As evidence that
the codes do remain, consider O'Hare in Chicago, one of the world's largest
airports. Their airport code? Still ORD (don't ask me what it stands for,
but it's not for O'Hare).

On the positive side about Stewart Field (I guess I should say "NY Hudson
Valley International Airport"), at least it is descriptive of the location
and function!
