Hi,

i just wanted to introduce myself. My name is
Elizabeth Card and I am doing family tree research on
my family-have been for years now. It's been a slow
process to say the least!

Anyway, the last name is Card. It started out as
Cardeo when the family came over from Italy in 1890.
Then changed to Carde, then by 1910 it was just
"Card"

They mostly lived in Poughkeepsie, and at times some
in Fishkill. I know some of the brothers owned a
Bar/Tavern/Hotel on the road between Millbrook and
Poughkeepsie-but don't know the name of it.

We aren't sure what town in Italy they came from-have
a hunch they are Calabrese. Chidlren's names were:
George, William, Frank Tony, Annie, Mary, Joseph,
James.

I haven't been able to locate the Naturalization
Records-they were naturalized in 1914. Does anyone
know where I can look for them? I am a member of
Ancestry.com and that's where I have found most of my
information.
