Hi Vickie,
I hit paydirt in the historic NYTimes.
I m going to forward you the notice of W.G. Kornahrens missing. I think
this must be him and his middle name was Gregory, although I suppose it's
possible that there were two missing Kornahrens............The Adobe Acrobat
software for some reason won't find the name when you search the files so
you will have to visually scan. If you have never used Adobe Acrobat, you
will have to download. It is free. Let me know and I will give you
directions.
The missing notice confirms that Gertrude was his widow. So the Gertrude
obit that I sent you gives you the name of her surviving relatives.
There is also a NYTimes article with a pic of the Annapolis graduates that
includes W.G. Kornahrens. That gives you a further resource - Annapolis.
They might help you find living relatives.
Lastly, there is a completely unrelated but very interesting short article
that I'm sending you on the sinking of an ocean liner in 1859. One of the
passengers was a Kornahrens. Just thought it was one of those interesting
coincidences. Think the Kornahrens might stay away from the water.
Pat
