Hi Lilly,
I have been working on my Drake family forever. Until recently I have been stuck with William Drake b. about 1720 and Elizabeth Taylor. I descend from their son Cornelius Drake. He and his sister Hannah were christened in the Dutch Reformed church of Fishkill in 1741 and 1739 respectfully. Some claim Josias b.1750 to be a brother. I would like proof if possible. In 1747 William and another were given in trust land to build the Rumbout Presbyterian church. William's daughter Hannah was married in this Church 4 Feb, 1762. So it appears that they may have changed churches. I am thinking that Josias might have been christened in the Presbyterian church.
We just recently had DNA done on our line and as I have thought all along we are from the Dutch line. I had thought maybe Francis Drake the miller at Madame Brett's might be William's father. But in the last two days two other researchers on our line feel that Cornelius b. 1796 is a more likely candidate. I have just now downloaded information on the Drake - Brouwer line so until I have an opportunity to see what I make of that I hate to make any comments. I do feel they may be right. When I am a little more sure of documentation I will be happy to share with you on the William Drake 1720 line. I am positive we are related to this family but need more facts as to through whom. If you have anything that might prove family ties I would love to see that.
Thanks so much for responding.

Hello,
I am not related to the DRAKE line, but I research the BROUWER name. May I
outline what I have, and could you please tell me how your family connects
to what I have outlined next?
#1. Adam Brouwer b. 1620, immigrant.
#2. Aeltje Brouwer , m. Josias Drats (the ancestor of the Drake family)
#3. Josias Drake b. 1682
I research all descendants of Adam Brouwer, and this Drake family would be
included. Aeltje Brouwer and Josias Drats/Drake had 7 kids. They were:
Josias, Sara, John, Cathryn, Cornelius, Betty, Casparus.
I would appreciate any list of descendants of Josias Drats/Drake, or any
website, or webpage which might contain that data.
Best regards,
Lilly Martin
