Hi Jim,

This isn't much but it is what I found in the book "Dutchess County, NY Tax Lists, 1718-1787" by Clifford M. Buck with Rombout Precinct by William Willis Reese" edited by Arthur and Nancy kelly, Kinship, NY, 1990.

In the Southern Precinct, 1740/41, page 278:
"Stocker, Joseph," paid tax February 1758-June 1762.

In the Beekman Precinct, 1738/39 - 1778, page 225:
Stockum, Strickum, John, Weaver: June 1746 - June 1748.

In the Rombout Precinct, 1738-39 - 1779, Page 195:
Stocker on John Gew's Farm: 1768.
Stocker of John Wood's Place: 1769, 1770.
Stocker (Stoker): 1771, 1772.
Stocker (Stolker, Stephen: 1773, 1775, 1777 [Note: this land confiscated in Rev. War].

Gew (Gue, John: 1762, 1763, 1765, 1778, 1779.
"The man of John Gew's farm:" 1766, 1767.

In the Town of Fredericksburgh, 1772-1779,
Page 288:
Stocham, Jonathan: 1772-1779.
Stockum, William: 1772-1775.

The Comfort Stocker married Sabra Beach 22 November 1781 in Norfolk, Litchfield, CT and removed to Vermont. One genealogy I have seen says Sabra Beach married Levi Stocker on 24 August 1761 and he was born 22 June 1783.

I haven't, as yet, been able to find out much more about these Stalker/Stockers.

Susan
