I will be in the area next month and one of my brick walls involves Dutchess
County.

My gr gr grandfather, Israel STRIKER, was born in Dutchess County in 1787. I
found this information at Oakwood Cemetery in Troy where he was buried in
1863, after living for many decades in Lansingburgh (Troy, Rensselaer County). I
have found a James STRIKER, about the correct age to be his father, living
in Dutchess County, but I need more information in order to determine if this
is my gr gr gr grandfather. I realize that since I am now well back into the
1700s that this will be a difficult search.

I would appreciate hearing from someone who might know where I could look
for this information while I am in the area.
