This is a reposting. I'm told that those subscribed to the digest mode of
the list had a problem deciphering the message because of a problem with the
way AOL 6.0 structures its email. I think we have that problem solved,
however.
Abt 1888 my g-grandfather John F. Curtis was struck and killed by lightning
in East Aurora, Erie Cty.. I'm looking for any information on this event and
on him, his ancestry etc. I've written to Albany for a death certificate but
they sent me one that was obviously the wrong one -time frame was WAY OFF.
Does any one know if there are any old newspaper archives that might make
mention of this event since it was an unusual and probably newsworthy
occurrence? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
