Since Daul is not one of your links, could not find it. My Dauls came from
Alsace also but they were definitely German. However, since the border
there switched between France and Germany more than once, that was not
unusual.
I noticed on a couple of your other surnames that they went from places in
Erie County to Michigan. Did you know that was quite common in this area?
They used the lakes for transportation. Some of my tree also did that. I
believe they moved to the Detroit area. Is this what you found also?
