Hello again.
Does anyone know what funeral parlors were in Johnstown during the 1890's?
Would records still be available anywhere? Although the Johnstown Cemetery
records burned a long time ago, does anyone have a copy floatin' around (ha
ha). Seriously, I am having a hard time figuring out how to find relatives
in a cemetery if their headstones are missing. I have mentioned the
possiblity of photos, but what are the odds that someone was snapping shots
in the Johnstwon Cemetery around the turn of the century. I pathetically
have tried poking a long steel rod into the plot where my
g-g-g-g-grandmother is buried. I was hoping to find her husbands stone
which should be there if he was buried with her. Don't worry, though, I
would never stray into anyone else's plot or over an existing grave site.
The process did, however, find my g-grandaunt's tombstone (she died at the
age of four from Scarlet Fever and her small headstone was buried between my
g-g-grandparents). Any advice in finding final resting places (and funeral
parlor records) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
