I am looking for information on my GGGG Grandfather Luther BISHOP of
Mayfield, Montgomery Cty (now Fulton). I have some census records
for him, also have searched rootsweb and find him still living in
1870 at 95 years old (Childs directory). That matches with what I
believe, he was born in 1755 in Guilford, CT, served in the Rev. War
from there (at least mustered out, didn't appear to serve many days).

Luther was the father of both Luther BISHOP Jr. and Nancy Bishop
SOUTHWELL, who moved to Tyre (then Junius), Seneca Cty, NY. Nancy
married Joseph SOUTHWELL. Luther Jr. married Susanna/Susan
JERROLDS/GERROLDS.

Nancy and Joseph are my GGG Grandparents. Joseph & Luther Jr. both
served in the War of 1812, and Joseph died during the war of an
epidemic. Luther Jr. lived a long life and was buried in Tyre. At
least 3 of Joseph's 5 children and other Southwells who were perhaps
his siblings migrated to Michigan, to Jackson Cty, Ingham Cty, and
Washtenaw Cty.

I have seen second hand information that traces Luther Sr. back
another 5 generations in Guilford and New England. Before I start
verifying that, I am looking for documentation that connects Nancy
&/or Luther Jr. to Luther Sr.

(I will send for any rev. war info; have not seen him in the pension index.)
