Try http://www.amsterdam-ny.com/mcha/. This is the Montgomery County
History and Archives Department. They also perform searches or can
recommend someone in Johnstown. In any event the MCHA may be the best place
to make your inquiries for Johnstown as it is only a few miles away. It
also has all material before 1838 when Fulton County was carved out of
Montgomery County and also has much Fulton County material after that date.
