I'm trying to find out the identity of a relative mentioned in an obituary of my great-grandfather, Benjamin Henry Ripton, that was published in the Gloversville Herald on 7 Nov 1936. A paragraph mentions that he was survived by his daughter (my grandmother) and by three nephews "and one niece, Mrs. William Morris of Gloversville." Does anyone have any idea what this niece's name was? Any pertinent Gloversville directories? As far as I know, the only two possibilities for this niece are Helen Ripton (b. 1899) who lived in Albany in 1930, and Margaret Ripton (b. about 1912), who lived in Gloversville in 1930 with her widowed aunt, Mary Ebbage Ripton. The only William Morris I could find in the area was one living with his widowed father Henry in Montgomery Co. in 1930, and I have no idea if he's the right person. Unfortunately, the 1940 census isn't available, and I haven't been able to turn up anything else. Any help will be much appreciated. Joanne Gaudio
