Dave,
Change is an issue of the entire computer world. I have no explanation BUT
it seems the programmers simply have too little to do and so changing things
becomes their mantra.
I find the same probelm every where. Those in charge usually respond "but
the customers wanted these changes" to which I usually say "Pthttttttt!

PS: Whine some more maybe they will listen.
PPS: I suspect most of the programmers are too young to have heard all the
doog, old sayings and those who have probably have not yet learned the
truths behind the sayings.
