There is a James McKenty in St Lawrence Co - Potsdam page 182.
Will send this to the Gen Dpt as I don't have St Lawrence census here
Any chance of getting the obit your mother had?

Subject: [NYJEFFER] James McKenty
I am a brand new subscriber to the Jefferson County mailing list and my
search is basically for one person only. If it should lead me to others in
my very incomplete family tree, then so much the better.
My paternal grandfather was James McKenty. My brother and I never knew him
or barely anything about him other than the fact that he was apparently a
serious alcoholic and he abandonded my grandmother and my father and his
siblings when my father was about 12 or 13 years old - sometime around 1900!
Our father NEVER spoke of him and we never even knew until recently the
names of our ggparents or g aunts or uncles much less that we even had any
in the first place! This thanks to our recent involvement in the geneology
search. where my brother happened upon what turned out to be a cousin in
Kentucky that we never knew existed! His ggfather and our grandfather were
brothers!
Anyway, one bit of information that we do know (partly thanks to an obit
that I recall my mother showing me) is that he (James) wound up in the
Theresa/Philadelphia NY area, that he died sometime around 1958 or 1959 and
that his funeral services were held in a Methodist Church in that vicinity.
His place of burial remains a mystery as I don't remember any other info
from that obit. He was born in April 1872 in the town of Norwood NY but
there is no information to be found about him in St Lawrence Co other than
in the birth records of my father and his siblings. We have recently come to
suspect that he may have been buried in the same family plot in Calvery
Cemetery in Norwood as our Grandmother but if he is, there is no record or
marker to confirm it.
There is no record of him beyond 1900 in any census records that we have
viewed - same thing for SS records or any other record for that matter!
I guess my question, after all the preliminary info above, is can anyone
give me the name, address and possibly an email address for the
aforementioned Church, or...any tid-bit of information to help us find
James!
Many Thanks!
Sally McKenty Bouvier
