Hi Nan and List!

With all the talk of cemetery lists online, now would be a great time to put
out a call for volunteers to transcribe the actual cemetery lists, so they
CAN be put online at the Jefferson Co. site.

Yes, it would be wonderful JUST to research our genealogy, but if EVERYONE
only did research, we would NOT have the records online that we do have.
Someone needs to DO the work!

Volunteering need not take a lot of time, even if you only have 1/2 an hour
a week, it may take a little longer, than say 1/2 an hour per day, but
eventually the "project" will be completed.

If for example, 10 people volunteered to transcribe cemetery records for 10
cemeteries, and it took them each a whole year to complete the project (ten
cemeteries), one year from now there would be 10 more cemeteries online than
there are now.

I am working with our local site in Indiana to create an index for a city
history book (100 pages - oversized - fine print) which is just filled with
family information, but has no index. When completed, this index will be
put online, and make look ups in the book possible. After that is
completed, I will be transcribing a local cemetery, from a book
(permissions are in the process, this IS important!)

Someone would be needed to coordinate this project as well. (Who is working
on what cems., and getting permissions from copyrighted materials.)

OK JEFFERSON CO. LISTERS, ANY VOLUNTEERS ????
LET'S MAKE A MIRACLE !!!!
