Subject: [NYJEFFER] Abraham Dana / Denny ?
Date: Thu, 11 Jul 2002 01:03:36 EDT
Hi
I get all the emails on the Jeff=Digest and I have recently narrowed
down some people in my search for the parents of my John Denny/Dany/etc. I
have checked the 1825 and 1835 Census's and compared them with copies of the
1845 & 1855 Census. Found alot of the same people listed repeatively
(looking at groupings)... and I'm very interested in this Abraham Dana listed
on the 1825 Ellisburg Jefferson Census. I am curious if anyone knows
anything about him. It listed he had 3 (sons?) and 3 daughters. He was over
the age of 45 at that time and his wife was under the age of 45 in 1825. The
boys were under the age 18 and not qualified for the militia nor to vote.
On the 1835 in the same grouping of names Abraham Dana does not appear (could
of passed away within those ten years), but two other Dana's are listed a
Hugh Dana and a John Dana (<--- he appears to be the right age for my John
Denny, he has a wife listed & no children - possibly just newlyweds - as this
also would fit my John Denny's marriage date).
I also have copies of the Beekman Patents / genealogy outline for a
Denny Line, but the Abraham's that are listed don't fit into the time period
/age group of this Abraham Dana I'm looking for. I'm pretty sure this is a
totally different Dana/Denny line than the Denny Beekman Patent's lineage.
Would appreciate any help or direction.
Thanks
Janice
