I have just checked Ancestry.com for Brooklyn (Kings County) city directories,
1888-1890, and found the following either living or having a business at
71 Hamburg:
Wolfgang Dannhardt-sold cigars
Anton Hetscher
Joseph Herr
Henry McGuire
George Muller
Charles Schaub-sold shoes
Claude Engler
Solomon Fass
Louis Kroenert
HenrY Magner
George Miller
Charles Schaub-evidently he lived there, too
Women were not listed unless they were widows so this is not necessarily
a boarding house for men but probably a tenement house. Hope this helps
