I do not know if this will help, but around the turn of the century, my great grandfather arrived from England, where my grandfather was born, from Kiev, Ukraine. They, I think settled in New York. My greatgrandfather's name was Mikael (I think that is how it was spelled) and my grandfather was John. I know my grandfather lived in Brooklyn in the first quarter of the 20th Century. I hope this helps.
