Searching for any information on Charles Gregg, believed born in the US ca. Sept 10, 1809, possibly resided in Orange Co., New York, in the 1840s and 1850s, and died in Brooklyn, NY, December 27, 1871. Resided at 236 Gates Avenue, Brooklyn, at time of death, and probably resident in Brooklyn for ca. at least the last 20 years of his life. Buried in the Green Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY. Reputed to be an iron pipe manufacturer, with a business at 64 Gold, Brooklyn, who supplied the US oil industry in its earliest days. Wife's name was Adeline (1810-1892). They had three children: Minnie L. Gregg Davison Gowing (1840-1893); Lucy A. Gregg Dumont (1844-1909); and Josephine A.Gregg Hillyard (1852-1940).
I would be grateful for any information regarding Mr.Gregg or any of his family members, ancestors, or descendents. Will be glad to share my information.
