Hello List,
I am new to this list and thought I would introduce
myself.I have just started looking for my NEVILLE
family living in Brooklyn,NY.
The only thing I have to go on is William Neville or
name could be possibly Frank Neville was born in
England,no birth dates.And died in
Brooklyn,NY,abt.1871,from smallpox.His wife,Martha
Barrett Neville,born in England,died about 1874 in
Brooklyn,NY.
Left homeless was 4 children,William,Albert,Martha
and Sarah Neville.They were placed in the Childrens
Aid Society of the Episcopal Church of
Brooklyn.William and Albert were taken to Poweshiek
county,Iowa in June 1873.They later sent for their
sister,Martha and moved to Grinnell,Iowa in the Malcom
township.Supposedly Sarah was adopted by a Henry
HARRISON.But I don`t have any other information on
that.
I need census records starting at 1860.I would also
like to find if there is a death index or records
during this time period..Does anyone know if there is
such a thing?
Also looking for this family in the city directories
after 1861.Bill Sweeney sent me the information from
1858-1961.[Thanks a bunch,Bill.!!]
Sure hope someone can tell me ways of getting more
information that what I have now!And I am looking
forward to hearing from others how they got their
information.
