On 4/3/03 (6:32:22 AM MST), in a posting to the Kings County Board that was 'gatewayed' to , Kathy B. () asked,

"Hi Helen I already knew about all these things but thanks anyway! Back in the late 1980s I sent Holy Cross a check for $20.00 and asked them for a picture of the church. They cashed the check and sent me nothing. I did this again in 1998 and again the same thing happened. I called them on the phone a few times and was told that they have no pictures they can send that they are a very poor church. I went to school there for over five years and so did my sister and brother back in the late 50-60's. To make a long story short I have looked at the Erasmus Hall web site but as I said you only get to see the top half of the school or the inside grounds. Nothing worth keeping. I called the school sent them a check I got no where. It seems much has changed since I went to school and church back then. Now I no longer live in Brooklyn and I can't believe how hard it is to get a picture of a church or school. from what I hear it is no longer a safe place to visit and I have been told !
t!
his by many people. So I guess I will just give up now. Thanks anyway!"

By going to Google.com and selecting "Image" and then doing a picture search for first Holy Cross and second for Erasmus Hall High School, I found:

For Holy Cross:

For Erasmus Hall High School:

My cousins -- Susan and Lilly Neuwirth who lived on Ocean Parkway -- attended Erasmus Hall High School in the 1950s.

To get more current pictures, you might consider subscribing (it's free) to the "" mailing list and posting your request there. The "Brooklyn" mailing list is far more active than is the "Kings County" list, even though Brooklyn and Kings County are coterminous.

You can subscribe to the "" by going to:

and following the instructions.

I hope this information is useful or, at least, interesting.

Wishing all a ziessen Pesach (sweet Passover),
