Unfortunately there aren't any online indexes for Kings County, other than the few that are on ancestry.com. Some people have posted some death records for members of their own family tree, like on US GenWeb, but there aren't any other official indexes.
If you don't live in New York, your next best bet is to try a Family History Center. Family History Centers are a worldwide network of genealogy libraries, run by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They have millions of records on microfilm, including birth, marriage and death indexes for Kings County. It costs approximately $3.25/roll to have the films sent to your local FHC. They are also much cheaper for obtaining copies of certificates (ranging from 25 cents to $3 each) than getting them from the state.
