Seeking any info. on my anscestor John Martin,b 1821 in Co. Tyrone ,Ireland ,lived in Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn for fifty years . He died Nov.20, 1891. Funeral mass was at St. Anthonys on Manhattan Ave. . He was a ferry boat Captain with the New York and Brooklyn ferry Co.According to 1870 census his wife was named Adelie and in the 1880 census his wife was named Bridget. Their children are named as Thomas,Mary, Charlotte, and Joseph. How would I find info. about this ferry company? Would someone do a will/probate search? According to his funeral announcement he was buried in Calvary Cemetary but I have been told they can find no record of his burial. Any suggestion how to find his place of burial? How grand it would be to connect with some of John Martins' descendants! Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
