For people not in NYC, but in the wilds of upstate ( Monroe County), you can access Hertitage Quest free with the barcode from your library card. This is the same data that Genealogy.Com has.
On another note, does anyone know if has copies of the NEW YORK MIRROR, specifically, July 16, 1826 are available anywhere? It contains a marriage announcement for Hannah Mead and Lewis Stewart.
