There is a very strong possibility that a male cousin of mine may take me to Most Holy Trinity Cemetery within the next few weeks (even though we just found out that none of our ancestors markers are still standing). This parish cemetery used to require that the markers be made of copper and wood. What didn't rot, rusted or was "stolen for the copper" per the cemetery office folks.

I've heard it's a dangerous place to go, but is that really true during the late morning? I would think any thugs would be sleeping off booze or drugs during those hours. I'm assuming a big cousin and some pepper spray would take care of any problems. Any tips on this matter?

If you would like me to take some pictures of your ancestors gravemarkers let me know the folling info:
Names, Block #, Row # and Grave #.

If you don't know the above information call the following number to get it.....718-894-4888 (this is for St. John Cemetery, that manages Most Holy Trinity these days). If you don't supply the above information, I will not be able to take any pictures for you. I'm disabled and can't wander all over the place searching.

DO NOT tell them you are doing genealogy, just say you want to visit the cemetery and need the location information. I have a map of the cemetery, so with the above info, I will be able to locate the plots. I'll happily do it for free and e-mail you the digital pics or if you want them printed up I would upload them to a good and inexpensive online service that developes onto Kodak paper and snail mail them to you. For the printed pics I would ask that I be reimbursed the actual charges for the printing and postage.

Remember it's not 100% certain that I'll get there, but if I do I'm certainly willing to help you out. E-mail me at if I can be of help to you.

Happy~Hunting,
Carol
