>>The four living children were Edward, Phillip (born 1899 -- our
grandfather), Bessie, and William Joseph (born 1907).  There was a long break in between
Bessie and William, and my hunch is that three of the babies were born in that
window, and possibly one set of twins was born after William (perhaps after
1910 census).  I feel almost certain that one of those dead babies would have
been named James, as there was a line of at least three James Ferralls in a
row, and then it stopped in that generation.

Any information you can share would be great.  I need help with this one!<<

Maryanne ~ I hope this helps....it looks like there may be more questions
here! But for what it's worth, you might need to look in Canada or MA for some
birth/death/immigration records too! Good luck!

Ancestry gives an alternate indexing as James Terrall (the F does look like a
T on the page) Godfrey has him indexed as James Ferrall......

Ferrall, James, 42, b. NY, father b. NY,mother b. Ire.
", Mary, age 41, b. Canada, parents b. Ireland [I couldn't read the
immigration date, but she is listed as being naturalized.]
", Edward, age 23, b. NY
", Elizabeth, age 21, b. NY
", D????, son, age 20, b. NY [ could this be Phillip, using his middle name?
]
", William, age 14, b. NY

Ferrell, Mary A., wife, age 33, married 1, 17 yrs., 7 children/ 4 living, b.

", Edward J., son, age 14

In the same house, living as lodgers with the family of Edwin [looks like
Olsam], his wife Helen and their son Oswald, are:

Kehoe, James, age 60, b. Ireland, immigrated 1871; and Kehoe, Elizabeth, age
57, b. Ireland, immigrated 1873.

In 1900, Phillip was on the same page as the Kehoes, the rest of the family
was on the prior page and was unreadable on Ancestry....at Godfrey, it wasn't
much better but I could make out the names of James and Mary Farrell.  It
*looked* like James had a birthdate of
Feb. 1873? age 27, b. NY, father b. NY, mother b. Ire.   Mary b. ??Aug??
possibly 1874. I couldn't make out her immigration date. And it *looked* like she
had 4 children/3 living. There were two children on that page with them that
*looked* like a male child age 4 and a female child age 3.  Maybe you can save
the image and lighten it up with photo software.

Farrell, Phillip, son, b. June, 1899, age 1, b. NY, parents b. NY
Kehoe, James, head, b. Aug. 1849, age 50, married 26 yrs., b. Ireland,
parents b. Ireland, immigrated 1874, resided in this country 26 yrs., naturalized,
[occupation looks like it has something to do with a dry goods shop]
Kehoe, Elizabeth, wife, b. Feb., 1854, age 46, married 26 yrs., 5 children/ 3
living, b. Ireland, parents b. Ireland, immigrated 1874, resided in this
country 26 yrs.
Kehoe, Elizabeth, daug., b. [looks like Nov.] 1878, age 21, b. MA, parents b.
Ire. Saleslady - Drygoods.
Kehoe, Catharine, daug., b. Mar.,1882, age 18, b. MA, parents b. Ire.
Bookkeeper.
